Brief Description of the Project
The Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, proposed the development of Ashtamudi Lake and adjoining land parcels in Kollam as a Biodiversity and Eco-Recreational Hub under the ‘Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI),’ funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The project envisaged transforming approximately 30 acres of lakefront land into an ecotourism and recreation-themed destination.
