Brief Description of the Project
Ministry of Tourism came out with various new initiatives including transformation of old schemes through revised guidelines / frameworks. The Ministry intended to incorporate the renewed focus on sustainability through active participation of the host community and industry. Following schemes were being framed / renewed:
- Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (renewed)
- Iconic Tourism Destination Development Scheme (new)
- Special Tourism Zone (STZ) Scheme (new)
- Tented Accommodation at Buddhist Locations under CSSS Scheme (new)
- Development of NER View Point Scheme (new)
Services Provided
- Review of old scheme guidelines and identification of gaps / areas of concern observed in course of its implementation.
- Laid out transformation strategies for renewed scheme incorporating focus areas and action plans.
- Undertook extensive stakeholder consultations including state governments and relevant industry players and incorporating their feedback into the Scheme guidelines.
- Research study on similar schemes adopted by other Ministries in India and in other countries especially provisions pertaining to disbursements of financial incentives / grant and sustainable O&M practices.
- Development of Presentations and detailed Notes.
- Assistance in procuring internal approvals within the Ministry and from other departments of Central Government including PMO.
