Brief Description of the Project
Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA), has been involved in the development of the Mathura Vrindavan region which includes the Braj region. This region is known for its rich cultural, architectural, ecological, and spiritual heritage. There used to be over 1000 splashing water bodies having beautiful architectural constructions and over 137 lush green forests. Over 50 million pilgrims/tourists visit this small geographical area having a spread of around 5000 sq. km. The region spans the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, portions of the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, and the Palwal district of Haryana. The project involved DPR preparation of the projects under the Braj Region Tourism Master Plan to avail the JNNURM funds for the Heritage and Tourism sector projects. DPRs for the schemes/projects identified in various tourism clusters and unit locations identified on the Delhi Agra National Highway.
