Project: Development of Buddhist Tourism Circuit through PPP format under Champion Service Sector Scheme (CSSS) of Ministry of Commerce, Government of India
Location: New Delhi, India
Duration: Sep. 2018 to Jun. 2021
Client: Ministry of Tourism, Government of India
Address: Transport Bhawan, New Delhi

Brief Description of the Project

India has an unparalleled Buddhist legacy, the country, however, does not get an adequate share of Buddhist tourists. In order to promote various Buddhist circuits, there is a need for improvement of facilities particularly accommodation facilities at various sites. One of the emerging accommodation options is setting up tented accommodations, which require less investment and can be offered on a seasonal basis. While infrastructure could be developed by the Government, the project of setting up and operating the tented accommodation can best be done by the Private Sector. The Ministry of Tourism identified 8 Buddhist sites in India wherein tented accommodation & other facilities were required to be developed in PPP format.
