Brief Description of the Project

Government of Uttarakhand intended to formulate following Acts to facilitate development and promotion of tourism in the State

a) Uttarakhand Special Area (Planned Development and Promotion of Tourism) Act 2013 & Rules

b) Uttarakhand Ropeways Act 2014 & Rules

Uttarakhand Special Area (Development and Promotion of Tourism) Act was drafted based on UP Industrial Area Development Act. 1976 on which NOIDA, GNOIDA and SIDA have been constituted. The objective was to earmark and develop a dedicated region for tourism development and promotion and to position it as iconic destination on world tourism map.

Uttarakhand Ropeways Act was drafted with an objective to authorise, facilitate, regulate the construction, operations and maintenance of ropeway systems in the state of Uttarakhand. Also, to frame a licensing authority which would provide authorisations for developing the ropeway systems in the state of Uttarakhand both for carrying passengers and goods.

Services Provided

  1. Study of similar acts and rules enacted in other states
  2. Laid out salient features based on the discussion with stakeholders including government agencies
  3. Briefing with Legal Counselor for developing the Act
  4. Review of draft Act and comments on suggestions to be incorporated in the Act
  5. Presentation to the Client on various provisions of the draft Act.
  6. Coordinating various meeting that would take place from time to time and to incorporate the outcome of the discussions in the said Act.
  7. Support in final notification.
